On the 20th of June 2023, Croatia was devastated by a series of heart breaking events.

Bus Crash Tragedy

A bus carrying 12 people, including 10 children, crashed on the A1 motorway in Croatia, killing 1 person and injuring the remaining 11. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it is believed that the bus may have lost control due to a mechanical fault. The victims include seven third-graders, two fourth-graders, and one adult chaperone from the elementary school "Matija Gubec," which organized the school trip to the capital city of Zagreb. Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said he was "deeply saddened" by the news of the crash and offered his condolences to the families of the victims.

Earthquake in Petrinja

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Petrinja, Croatia, on the same day. The earthquake caused widespread damage to buildings and infrastructure, and at least one person was killed. The epicenter of the earthquake was near the town of Petrinja, which was heavily damaged in a 6.4-magnitude earthquake in December 2020.
